Let’s make it
Warm oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook onion for 4 minutes, then garlic for 30 seconds.
Add orzo and broth. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 9–10 minutes, stirring frequently so the pasta does not stick.
Stir in peas and cook for 3 minutes more until pasta is tender and peas are hot. Add a splash of water if needed.
Take off heat and stir in lemon zest, juice, parsley, and pepper. Rest for 1 minute, then serve.

- Check pasta and broth for egg or dairy ingredients when keeping it vegan.
- Taste the broth before adding any extra salt.
Saving some for later
Refrigerate in a shallow, covered container within 2 hours (within 1 hour above 32°C / 90°F). Keep at 4°C / 40°F or below and use within 3 days. Reheat cooked leftovers to 74°C / 165°F, adding a splash of water if needed.
